Are we selling ourselves out? The impact of genetic data collection

Katie Hasson, PhD, is the program director on genetic justice at the Center for Genetics and Society. She writes, speaks, researches, and teaches about the the social and political aspects of human genetic and reproductive technologies. Katie earned her PhD in sociology with a designated emphasis in women, gender, and sexuality from the University of California, Berkeley, and was previously assistant professor of sociology and gender studies at the University of Southern California.

Nicholas Mortensen is a third-year global security and justice major, and is the editor-in-chief of "The Global Inquirer." Before taking over the that role, Nicholas was a researcher on the podcast's staff, working on episodes on subjects like Venezuela's economic collapse, cultural protectionist policies, and drone warfare.

Anna Von Spakovsky is a third-year global security and justice major with a possible French minor. She is particularly interested in human rights and international law, as well as conflict resolution. Outside of "The Global Inquirer," she is involved in the International Relations Organization and various dance clubs at UVA.

Emily Lockwood is a second-year hoping to major in global security and justice and Middle Eastern studies. Before joining "The Global Inquirer," Emily spent her first semester at UVA in London. She is involved with the International Relations Organization as well as the International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville.

A third-year double major in computer science and drama, Andy brings his technical theater and digital systems experience to "The Global Inquirer." A computer-repair technician by trade, Andy runs the podcast's live streams and edits the weekly episodes. His hobbies include photography, filmmaking, and 3D printing.
