Event Details
Lawrence Wright, a staff writer for The New Yorker, has written frequently on the Middle East and terrorism. His history of Al Qaeda, The Looming Tower, is a narrative history of the events leading up to 9/11 and the terrorist plans and Western intelligence failures that culminated in the assault on America. His article "The Agent: Did the C.I.A. stop an F.B.I. detective from preventing 9/11?" appeared in the July 10 & 17 issue of The New Yorker. Miller Center scholar Timothy Naftali, recently appointed director of the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library, participated in a public conversation with Wright following his talk.
