What is the future of the African Union? U.S. Ambassador to the African Union, Michael A. Battle, SR. will discuss U.S. efforts to promote cooperation among the independent nations of Africa. Prior to his current appointment, Battle served as the president of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta and has been an administrator at several higher education institutions, including Chicago State University, Virginia State University, and Hampton University. He was also a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve for 20 years, retiring with military honors and a rank of lieutenant colonel in 1997.
