President Donald J. Trump gives his first address to the Joint Houses of Congress during his second term. It is the longest address to a joint session of Congress in decades, lasting more than one hour and forty minutes. In the first few minutes of his speech, Representative Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, is removed from the chamber for "disruption." Trump's speech focused on the economic state of the country, his desire to impose tariffs on other countries, and immigration. Per tradition, he calls out in his speech many people he had invited to attend. He also touches on efforts to reduce waste in the government, his plans to cut taxes, and foreign affairs including the Ukrainian-Russian War and the Israeli-Hamas War.
